Min. wages applicable in telecom

1-who will be the appropriate govt.for telecom industry as per the Min. wages act regarding contract worker employed by the contractor under the agreement for services, Telecom is licensed under central govt.

2- Telecom industry is covered under which shedule of sheduled employment of Min. wages act 1948.

I am just looking for saving in paying wages to contract labors working in my organisation as guards at the places of telecom towers employed under contractors like SIS. Some of them are owner of the land also. So if it is appropriate to pay state wages will be a big savings. Are these land owners will be treated as guards if we are paying them rent for their land under the lease agreement executed with the company.

Paying rent for the land does not automatically make the owners liable for guarding your installations, unless the issue is covered in the rent agreement. Minimum wages of the concerned state has to be adhered to in making payment of wages to the contract labour, unless agreed otherwise in the contract with the contractor.

So, Mr. Tripathi, you think as if I am confused. I really wonder on your observation and tone, "Don't be confuse tell me only two things!"

Your command is just like you are scolding one of your subordinate workers or a student of your class.

Question arises, am I confused or you are confused? I doubt, if you have actually gone through the Minimum Wages Act. Do you expect the community members of this forum to spoonfeed you in detail if you have not done your own home work to study the provisions of the Act being responsible to implement appropriately, as the AGM of your organisation?

By the way, what do you understand by the term, "Minimum wages of the concerned state has to be adhered to in making payment of wages to the contract labour," which I mentioned in my reply? Also, how many schedules are there in the Act?

Had you not been confused, you could not have come to this forum for seeking knowledge?

Moreover, if you are working at a responsible position of AGM in your organisation, you are required go through the Acrs and Rules concerning your duties and responsibilities. After going through that, if any doubt would have arisen in your mind, you could have come to this forum for clarification. You could not have expected the community members to hold tutorials for you on posting academic question, like the present one.

Mr. Dhingra thanks for your valuable comments on my understanding and capability, I think you have taken my words in wrong spirit and made odd comments against me but not answered my question yet which is very simple. Pls. Suggest if I have to engage thousands of guards on my network towers installed at different places through contractors like SIS securities and others and we want to pay min. Wages based on state wages applicable in different states. But Telecom as an industry having licence from central government so normal understanding is that central wages should be applicable on us. Hope this will not be treated as academic question.

So, Mr. Tripathi, in your views, in what spirit your language and tone should have been taken on, "Don't be confuse tell me only two things"?

Also, on what aspect I was confused when I replied on your query, "Minimum wages of the concerned state has to be adhered to in making payment of wages to the contract labour?" If you knew better, you could have mentioned what was your own understanding or confusion about that and why did not you mention what was your doubt on your own knowledge?

Mr. Tripathi, you forget you asking for free advice when telecom industry is a flourishing and profit making industry and can well afford to hire services of experts under delegated powers of one or the other executive to guide executives of your organisation on various issues, if your organisation does not have a duly established legal cell. If you have to hire thousands of guards for the security of your network, better hire services of some expert to advise you.

So now, I do not feel you deserve any more free advice on your official commercial problem.

However, if you have any personal problem, you are welcome to ask me.
