Marriage with foreigner in foreign

(Querist) 26 May 2018 This query is : Resolved
Good morning.
I am Indian and my passport is from Delhi.
I am living in Japan and want to marry a Japanese here.
Marriage officer here asked me to get the unmarried certificate and a certificate from my parents stating that I am unmarried from India.
Indian embassy in Japan can issue bachelor certificate but they said i need to ask my parents to get an affidavit (there is no such certificate).
My parents have moved to Gurgaon from Delhi.
Please tell me how should my parents proceed with affidavit and where can we get this attested from.

Regards

Very simple, your parents can take help of some local lawyer to get the requisite affidavit and got attested from the appropriate authority.

Thank you for your reply sir.
Indian embassy said that the affidavit from parents should be attested from MEA (Ministry of External Affairs).
I contacted MEA and they said we need to first get it attested from gurgaon, then from home department of Haryana and then MEA will attest it.
My parents have got the affidavit and get it signed from Executive magistrate Gurgaon.
Now, Home department of Haryana is saying that they need Forwarding letter along with affidavit from of Executive magistrate Gurgaon.
This Executive magistrate is now refusing to give us the forwarding letter and asking that I need to present in person in Gurgaon.
Since the affidavit is the declaration from my parents, why do I need to be present in person.
Or are we not getting attested from right authority?
Please guide us the right place, person to whom we should get this affidavit attested.

Why don't you tell Indian High Commission in Japan, you want to marry there under the Foreign Marriage Act, 1969. The Indian High Commission has Marriage Officer appointed there to get the Marriage between Indian with foreign national and all these formalities of affidavits of parents not required under the civil marriage under this Act.
If the High Commission officials there tell you they are not aware of the Act or marriage process they can do there than tell those jokers to better get themselves posted back to India as they don't deserve to be there enjoying all these privileges.

Your Presence is Not Required for your Parents certifying you as Un Married. Once again dis cuss with concerned Japanese Authorities and let your Parents discuss with a good advocate locally for the affidavit and more over your Pass Port it self would certify that you are Un Married Please.
