Hello, I n my wife belongs to general category with sub caste bramhin and maratha respectively...so my question is ,can I get benefits by maharashtra govt. As govt annonced to give 50k to the couple who hv married inter caste.

Scheme eligibility in brief is as under:

The person/couple should be the permanent resident of Maharashtra.

Beneficiaries / married couple, one should be belongs to SC ST, VJNT and SBC. (Caste certificates need to)

Beneficiary / married couple should submit marriage registration certificate.

The married couple, Male age should not be less than 21 years and female should not be below 18 years. (On / Brides of school leaving certificate)

Two Honble persons recommendation letters.

In this regards the definition of inter Caste Marriage is Marriages between SC/ST/VJ/NT/SBC persons and the other person should belongs to Savarna, Hidu Lingayat, Jain, Sikh Community.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Intercaste Marriage Benefits :

1) First and important thing that both of applicant should be living in Maharashtra and having the citizenship of India

2) The husband / wife must be having the scheduled caste (sc) / scheduled tribe (st) certificate from the authorized department.

3) Both (husband and wife) must be having their permanent address / residence in the Maharashtra state to get the scheme benefits

4) The inter caste marriage incentive scheme by the Maharashtra government is only given to the couples of first marriage only and it will be provided only one time.

5) In case the husband comes under the general category and the wife comes under the sc / st category then the amount will be transferred by the govt in joint bank account.

6) The applicants are able to get the benefits of the inter caste marriage within the duration of one year. If any applicant didn’t have got in this duration then contact to concerned dept.

To conclude to avail benefit of the scheme couple should be residents of Maharashtra and one of the spouse should be from SC/ST caste of Maharashtra.
