My father died 47 years back but we don't have his DC . He died in vellore and can't find a copy.
My mother died a year back and we have her DC . now we need legal heir certificate from tahsildar (to claim bank account). She was drawing can ly pension from TN state govt for 47 years. Now to issue LH certificate Tahsildar office want my fathers Death certificate also. How to solve. Please guide us.

You can claim the money from Bank without legal heir certificate on the basis of affidavits submitted by known person or by getting succession certificate if no nomination available.
If father expired in Hospital, there are possibility that hospital has informed the Registrar of death regarding same or family has registered the death otherwise. If record is there you can apply for the certificate.

The Deceased Depositor claim forms may not press the need for legal Heir Certificate and narration in claim forms on list of Legal heirs might be accepted..............
The verification by say; Area MC Councillor may be accepted...........
The affidavit from any of the Legal heirs on narration of legal heirs might be accepted...........
