Legal Heir Certificate

Can anyone please guide me on how can one obtain a legal heir's certificate in Mumbai? Can it be done online? Also, is a succession certificate same as legal heir certificate? If not how can that be obtained too please?

The main reason for obtaining one is as the deceased hasn't left a will behind and all his matters needs to be cleared like I.T., property, proprietary firm on his name, bank accounts etc.

You need to approach Bombay High Court for the necessary succession certificate. Consult a practicing advocate.

Thank you sir but can u pls explain the difference bet legal heir certificate and succession certificate? I have been told we need to apply for legal heir certificate first and only after that is in hand we can apply for succession certificate

Class one heirs ie spouse, children,father,mother can obtain legal heir certificate from the tluk or tehsil.Others, succession certificates is required, which could be obtain from the court.

You can obtain LR Certificate from concerned SDM.
If you are interested in obtaining succession certificate apply to District Civil Judge.
There is no need and jurisdiction of Bombay High Court for issuance of succession certificate.
Consult a local lawyer.
