Yes, if any notice received from IT department.

No need if not having taxable income in the concerned FY.

Jay Narayan Singh,

Every individual has to file the return of income if his total income (including income of any other person in respect of which he is assessable) without giving effect to the provisions of section 10(38), 10A, 10B or 10BA or Chapter VIA (i.e., deduction under section 80C to 80U), exceeds the maximumamount which is not chargeable to tax i.e. exceeds the exemption limit.

Plz clear little bit more.....
If my total income in FY 2013-14 is 3.5 lacs. Hope tax slab in this year is upto 2.5 lac is free. Rest amount is 1.0 lac but I have some tax rebatable policies equalent to this amount. But I have not file ITR for this FY.
Now is it compulsory to file ITR for this FY ?

Whether you have invested in tax saving schemes in that year?

Have you got any housing loan and paid interest / installment in the year.

What are other admissible dedctions?

How much TDs was deducted?

Have you form 16 of the year?

You can visit income tax site _ calculate your tax _ go to relevant year fill the data and get your liability.

If the TDS is more than the tax liability, you may not get the refund now.

If an employee can take help of your HR department.
