Please guide if there is any insurance coverage available for apartment committee members in case of litigation against them.

Isaac sir, ours is a large apartment of more than 1000 flats and thus follows number of legal issues, for which the apartments committee members get sued. Wanted to know if there is any insurance coverage for the same to help lessen the costs of litigation.

The Committee as a whole body as well the general body is jointly responsible. There cannot be any case of any committee member being liable for his/her action unless there is an element of willful wrongdoing or gross negligence or criminal offence. No insurance could be availed for such acts and omissions.
