How to start a law firm ?

Respected Sir,
Greetings of the day.
My father was an Advocate of Calcutta High Court during 1938 onward.After independence he joined the Government Service.As the eldest son,I am interested to start a Law Firm in the name of my father as follows"S.N.Banerjee Associates,Advocate & Lawyers,Legal and Investment Consultant."
Please tell me how shall I start the Law Firm ?

Going by your qualification as noted above, I am not sure which university provides PG Diploma(J.Tech.)and whether Bar Council of India accepts this as requisite qualification for enrollment as Advocate .If you are not qualified to pursue legal profession/ practice independently, better, open a investment consultancy firm in the of M/s. S.N.Bannerjee & Associate.

Have you enrolled yourself as an Advocate. If yes, you will learn the basics for opening a law firm from the senior under whom you served as a junior.
opening of a professional firm as a service provider needs an association qualified practicing professionals of that profession having specialisation of that area besides required number of back office staff to provide support services.
Besides, you need to register a partnership deed/LLP/ co. as per your requirement in the address of the registered office.other regn. like obtaining a PAN Card, Service tax regn. would also be necessary.Opening of a current account in a bank after regn. of firm/ LLP/ co. would also be necessary.
Besides, you need to subscribe to online law journals etc. and arrange suitable infrastructure like office space,office furniture, computer,Multi function printer having scan & copying facility and separate conference room for discussion with clients etc.. For a professional law firm, the necessity of building proper library is of immense value and convenience.Further, you can keep contact with well known legal professional for seeking opinion or litigation assistance at times of need. For building up corporate clientele one needs to have a dedicated tech- savvy marketing team to develop adequate client relationship as well as to maintain existing clientele. You can also discuss with your banker to meet a term loan requirement for funding infrastructure as well as a working capital facility to meet revenue expenses with ease.
