Execution of Will: A document by which a person (called the testator) appoints executors to administer his estate after his death, and directs the manner in which it is to be distributed to the beneficiaries he specifies.
A person appointed by a will to administer the testator's estate is called the executor. Therefore, an executor can be a beneficiary and a beneficiary can be an executor vis-a-vis. There is no bar in law for this arrangement.
