There is no background details while you have posted such a sensitive issue seeking clarification.
The word drug denotes to the medicines used in daily life by all, hence there is no question of blanket ban of drugs.
The drugs have not been banned, but narcotic drugs are banned for the reasons mentioned in the NDPS act which may be visited for knowing more details.
