Dear sir
Goa police filed case against me stating drink and drive and using mobile...and asked me to attend the court for fine..what could be the punishment from court to me under this offense. Plz share

It would be only Fine. But you should understand it is absolutely for your good. After consumption of Drinks you were Driving and more over Using the Mobile which would have certainly put your Life in Risk.Maximum It would be Less than Rs.10000/-Take it as a Lesson More than Fine.

even though magistrate can impose upto 10,000 rupees as fine amount, usually fine amount for drink and drive will be as 2,000 or 2,500 only.

just engage an advocate.

apart from this i agree with mr.rajkumar's advise to you. just try to avoid this in future.

WHILE DRINK AND DRIVE YOU ARE EQUAL TO HUMAN BOMB.

Court would fine in the matter. If you wish, you can deny the charge and face the trial to plead not guilty.

Police will not simply file case for Drunk and Drive with out necessary evidences like Medical Report etc.You can not deny the Charges Just like that and you could do it once you decide to be a regular guest to the Court.

There are Lakhs and Lakhs of Cases Pending in all the Courts.Any Learned Advocate could easily Analyse and Justify the Clients approaches them about their Genuinitiy and Truth.Depending on this if Learned advocates decide not to entertain any out of way and Illegal claims there would be a Revolutionery Change.Ofcourse there are lots of loop holes but if learned advocates would decide the Truth would Certainly Triumph.
