Documents under Provident Fund Act

Dear Sir,

Up to how many years the documents under The Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1953 shall be maintained.

If any such provision is there, please prescribe the section accordingly.

There is no provision in Act or Rules but within departmental notification may be available. However, the record upto 10 years of the payment/closing of account of any particular person is maintained there.

IT,s true that there is no such provision but it is advisable to keep at least records relating to contributions deposited even beyond a period of 10 years as P.F Deptt. can take actions for levy of Damages for period beyond 10 years and even more, as there is no such bar as far as law is concerned.
