Hi I am a New Zealander currently under going a divorce. Papers have been served to my ex husband and signed and sent back to New Zealand. As to my understanding how long before I wait to get married again? I am currently in India with my current partner and we are wanting to get married here in India. Looking to reach out for help also professionally. Thank you

After divorce you have to wait upto 90 days thereafter you can remarry to your partner in India.

So you are saying that I wont be able to get married while my divorce is underway? Even tho the papers have been served and signed and sent back to New Zealand already?

Certainly you cannot re-marry unless divorce is granted. Unless you want to present your present husband with a gift opportunity to file criminal case on both of you.

Through the New Zealand system it states this "If you don’t appear in court If you decide together that you don’t want to appear in court, the court will look at your forms and check that the requirements are met. The court will then make the Dissolution Order.
You will be legally divorced 1 month after the date the Dissolution Order is made. The court will send copies to both of you"
