Different name in different certificate

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 17 March 2019 This query is : Resolved
My father's name doesn't have surname in my 10,12 & Aadhar card but appears on my graduation & master's degree (e.g XY in 10 & XYZ in graduation). However his name in his certificate is XYZ . I lately applied for passport on the basis of 10 certificate .
I am concerned that such differences in father's name will create any issue in visa application or other aspects.
Please suggest can I resolve this issue with one & same person affidavit.

In Aadhaar Card also, your father name is suppose XY. But your father recorded name is XYZ. so get updated Aadhaar card with your father's correct name and then get Notarised Affidavit as your father XYZ and XY are one and the same with necessary proof.

Mention same name/ spellings of name/ surname as appear in documents, no need to get it changed.
However, no dispute existed in the query for consideration and obligation of experts, it is all a procedural question, LCI Admin should filter such post.
Moreover, you are "anonymous" author ???

Such discrepancies are quite common. If need arises, the same could be explained through an affidavit.
You have already applied for passport, wait till the issue is finalised.

Thank you everyone for their responses.
Should I only prepare an affidavit when the need for explanation arises or make it in advance.
Also, if I apply for affidavit both name will be considered? As my 10 certificate has name XY therefore my passport will also bear the same name , while my father's name in his documents is XYZ.

You cannot use both the names at one time. You have to decide on one name and accordingly you should have applied for passport and other documents.

I have one more issue. My mother's name in 10,12 certificate is Neeraj but in graduation I wrote Neelam Bhadauria .(The reason been she was called by two names usually by Neeraj , therefore I wrote Neeraj in 10 being stupid at that time). But her name in all her document is Neelam Bhadauria. However mother's name doesn't appear in graduation marksheet or degree.
So do I need to do anything for making it correct or just ignore it as her name doesn't appear in my graduation degree , right now I am using parents name as per 10 certificate. Please help.

As and when any Query arises an Affidavit would suffice enclosing the required proofs. Presently nothing to worry and if you have time now make ready the Affidavits 3 or 4 sets and keep with the help of a local Advocate.

Dear Sir,
Yes, you must get important documents in a common name so that they should not be any confusion for issuing VISA to you.
