SIR, ONE OF MY CLINT WHO IS ISSUED ME A CHEQUE INSTEAD OF GIVEN CASH. NOW HE IS REFUSING TO PAID THE SAID AMOUNT WHICH IS MENTIONED IN THE CHEQUE. NOW WHAT IS THE LEGAL STEPS.

I think you had Issued the Cheque for the Dues and had Settled the Same by Cash.The Cheque was Not Collected back by You and the Lender Still Makes the Claim.If it is Right consult a Good Advocate and File A Police Complaint and Proceed With Legal Steps.

Very vague question?

Plese clarify:
1) What happened to cheque? Has he given you the cheque just to hang that duly framed in your office?

2) How much is the amount of cheque?

3) Why you want only cash, not getting the cheque encashed?

Where is the question of his refusal once he has delivered the cheque to you. You deposit the same in your account and if it bounces you can take action under Sec.138 NI Act.
