I have been chheated by someone. I have already filed a FIR against him at nearest police station on 06/04/2017 but police could not trace him till now . What I have to do further?

Since you have been cheated, you may know his whereabouts better than police.
So, help police to trace his whereabouts, if you want to materialise your case. Otherwise, if you can't also make efforts, let the case die its own death, if police fails to trace him.

Police will take its own time, you are not the only citizen having problem/complaint in their area.
At the most you may file an application before area Magistrate to obtain status report of FIR through a local prudent lawyer

If police failed to trace him, try to provide information regarding his possible hide to police.

Mr. Sudhir Kumar,
Actually I had been make a contract with a promoter to built my own residential house at my own residential plot on 26/04/2015 and the total contract amount was Rs.2500000 ( rupees twenty five lakhs). I have already made the payment Rs.23,45000 ( rupees twenty three lakh forty five thousand ) to the promoter, but he had been done only 60% construction job till now , although it was settled that total job will be completed within one year from the date of sign of agreement. You know already two years has been passed away, and when I create a pressure on him to complete the construction, he has left the place without giving any explanation to me. At present he has no trace, even police could locate his position. I had already file a FIR against him U/S 420 on 06/04/2017, but police also could not arrest him till now. I have already consulted to a lawyer regarding the case and he had sent a legal notice to him. But there is no result also. So I need your valuable advise that what I have to do further so that he should be punished. Not only that, please give your advise how can I finish the construction job. Is it possible to engage another promoter for the same?
