Change unknowingly entered step-mother name in passport

Hi All,

I got the passport with step-mother name unknowingly (I had confusion on mother name which was to give between step-mother & mother name during passport application). I have biological mother name in all other documents / certificates. Which causes an issue having different mother names.

Please suggest me to replace step-mother with biological mother name (She was died) in passport.

You are to mention name of mother as "documented".
No legal issue involved in your statement for further consideration and obligation of experts.

Thanks for the answer.

As �documented� means I have to use my mother name everywhere (not step-mother name).

Planning to get marriage registered with my mother name and then to get the dependant visa for my wife.

Coming to my details I have step-mother name in passport and will have mother name in marriage certificate. Will this stop getting dependent visa as I have different mother names?.

Filing the required Affidavits and undertaking the required Correction and Alteration could be done in the concerned pass port office. Discuss with trust worthy pass port agents out side the concerned pass port office and they would take care.

Mentioning Step Mother as Mother is Illegal and to be corrected at the earliest.

The mistake is of no consequence, if the passport has already been issued?

Passport has already been issued with step-mother name. Now I want to replace that with actual mother name (who was expired 19 years back) if there are any legal consequences.

Some times even the Pass Port could be blocked for making such illegal entries.
