Caste certificate

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 12 January 2018 This query is : Open
Myself Mohit Modi belonging to a Marwari Family (in Bihar) involved in cloth business.I have a NC-OBC certificate signed by District Magistrate which states that I belong to Modi Bania community and I have rights of reservation ( as per NCBC list serial no. 83) and correspondingly I have applied in CAT 2017 with that certificate and got admission call from IIM A.I am writing this to cross verify whether I belong to it or not and if I got admission will I face any problem in future?

Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 13 January 2018
you have no problem unless the certificate is fraudulently obtained or forged.

My title is Modi and I belong to Marwari family so does my caste is Modi Baniya?
Or Modi is a altogether different caste?
Guest (Expert) 13 January 2018
Wrong number. Not a legal problem. For clarification purpose, you may better ask through RTI only from the concerned certificate issuing authority.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 13 January 2018
No need for RTI. List of castes (statewise) is available on net.
Guest (Expert) 13 January 2018
@ Sudhir Kumar,

If no need for RTI, why not you have given the distinction between "Modi Baniya" and single "Modi" term of the cast? You could have replied even after getting from the net, as you advised the querist.

AQ so NO reply.

You may post with your ID and you can get many replies.
Your ID does not mean your email id or phone number and don’t post these also.
You can also SEARCH for similar queries in similar thread by using the SEARCH option.
You can feel relieved if as suggested by Mr. Sudhir Kumar the certificate is not forged or obtained by any fraudulent act.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 13 January 2018
@ Mr Jigyasu.

let the qeurist also make some net search.
Guest (Expert) 13 January 2018
Very vague discussions on vague post.

@ Sudhir Kumar,
When in your first reply to the query, you declared that the querist did not have problem, what prompted you to specifically advise him in your subsequent post not to use RTI, as against my advice to him to use RTI?.

Further, when he was unable to use net and you prohibited not to use RTI, why not suggest solution as per your own finding on the net. Why such hesitation, by merely stating "let the querist also make some net search." If you were to suggest him to make some net search, what was the necessity to declare that he did not have any problem?

Was there any specific reason that you could remember about net only to oppose my advice to use RTI?

Mr. Jigyasu,

Apparently, Mr. Sudhir Kumar did not like your advice, as against his assumption that the querist did not have any problem. Else, he would also not have been able to find answer even at the net, which could have compelled him to take the plea that the querist should take the trouble to search the net.

OF COURSE, VAGUE COMPETITION BETWEEN BOTH OF YOU FOR NO CAUSE!

Both of you can continue your ventures.
