Can ipc section 337 effect my passport application?

(Querist) 20 July 2017 This query is : Resolved
Hello all,

I'm Dinakar and I'm a student. On november 10th 2016 I did an accident and the victim has filed a case on me with sections IPC 337/338. After that, I spoke to the victim and paid all the medical charges and he compromised in the court and the case was closed on march 7th 2017. Now, will this case effect my passport? I'm very much tensed about this. Please help me!!!

Is it a real story or moot court topic, consult your tutor.
Dinakar (Querist) 22 July 2017
This is a real topic and we compromised before going to the court. Only the formalities are done in the court.

You were not punished by the court.

May not effect your passport as case is finished.

Do not hide any material fact in application.

Keep ready the certified copy of court order after compromise for reference in need.

I was not punished by the court and the case is completed without filing the charge sheet. Now, in passport application there is a clause which says "Have you ever been charged with criminal proceedings or any arrest warrant/ summon pending before a court of India?" Yes/NO. What should I say?? Yes/No

Agree with RK Goyal.
