Appeal against the police officer investigations

can a appeal be filled against a police office / investigation officer of a case who denies to register a case and after moving to court( AS complaint case ) the court orders the police to register the fir and a heinous crime is proved in that FIR.
and the accused are sentenced for 5 years .
now what action can be taken on that police officer who did not register the FIR initially and tried to delay / supress the case

Accused has been punished by court orders. If court has mentioned any adverse view against the police, the matter should be proceeded accordingly.

No doubt the police did not take proper action at the initial stage, but the upon court's direction, the same was investigated properly and the accused has been convicted. Why do you want to follow up the case so vigorously when the objective has been achieved?
