Alteration of toilet in joint propert

Dear sir
we are resides in joint house in aligarh U.P.where my cousin brother also resides. our's grandfathers had partitioned approved by court case degree in 1947 . so some of property is divided and on some property is under common share.
our cousin had made personal flush toilet in their own share but we used to go to common toilet which is of old style. now we want modify the same with flush seat but my cousin brother becomes violent and warns the labour to arrest by police.
whether is there any remedy in civil or criminal laws .please help me . i am also a fresh advocate and going to Bar council of Up for registration. i am also intrested of taxation and criminal laws. E;MAIL:

if it is common toilet to be shared with your cousin you would need his consent to make modifications . you can in your share of property have personal flush toilet

Any common portion of property can not be altered/modified without the consent of other co-owner.

You can not do alternation in the common property without his consent. Only way is to convince him.

Thanks to all respectable experts . i knew that i have to got consent of cousin, but all we are in legal sector and can we not get any remedy under any law viz. civil,criminal/polution laws/constitutional laws since garbage effluent from joint toilet is flow directly to public drain which,i think,ultimately reached to canal or water works. please advise surely since all you are experts.
