improper and incomplete query

In child custody and divorce combined case, the wife alleged in evidence-in-chief that husband received money from her father and when money demanded he gave beating to her and did not return the money. But, in the cross, she admitted that money was not received by the husband and admitted some other important facts. When wife realized that she stopped appearing for further cross examinations; thereby her evidence was discarded and matter kept for argument. Now question is--
In argument, can defense rely on (or refer) admissions of opposite party whose evidence is discarded for default?

This is good point in the hands of defense.

Experts are moving around the point in the questions without answering it. I think they know the answer but their narrow-mindedness creates the barrier.
