Meaning of 'posting against a vacancy'

(Querist) 16 November 2018 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sirs,

I have been deputed from State Government office to Central Government Autonomous organisation.
In this new organisation, i have been posted 'against an existing vacancy'. What does this mean?
Do am I entitled for all the perks and privileges for this existing vacancy.
This is one higher post than the post I discharged in Parent department of State Government.

Please clarify.

Thanks,
KISHAN DUTT KALASKAR (Expert) 16 November 2018
Dear Sir,
Normally a Government Servant deputed on any other post cannot claim as of right all the monetary benefits attached to that post. However you may submit a representation to your higher officers if not granted you may approach service tribunal or High Court.

Please mark “LIKE” if satisfied by my answer.

You are entitled for deputation allowances (if any) attached to the vacancy, which must have been explained in the terms and conditions of deputation advertisement.
Which is your parent department and where have you been deputed ?
How can a (State) government department depute its employee to an (union) autonomous body ?
