Can anyone please clarify?

Sir,

A notarized document has no evidentiary value unless supported by the original.

Notarization means that the Notary has inspected the original and has duly certified the copy.

Good Luck,

Thank you sir. The original stamp paper is notarised (with that Red stamp) but there is no reference number mentioned. Hence asked , without reference number what is sanctity of say agreement in that case?

Dear Kishore sir. Can you please clarify?
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 29 May 2016
What do you mean by reference number?

In the notary stamp itself you can find his notarial registration number, if you refer to that and if that registration number is not visible then the notary authenticity is under cloud However if the notary failed endorse the register serial number, then it is not a big crime. The notarisation can be held as valid.

Sir,

Your statement "The original stamp paper is notarised (with that Red stamp) but there is no reference number mentioned." is meaningless.

Please understand that a copy of the original document is notarized, and not the original.

The notarized document should have the seal and registration number of the Notary, else it is not valid.

Good Luck,
