Police has to make compliance of the order of trial judge and shall produce the witnesses before the court for the purpose of evidence and the witnesses shall have to seek their bail first.

Evidence shall have to be taken on file whatever the witnesses depose failing which the prosecution evidence shall stand closed and case and then the opportunity to defence witnesses shall be granted, if desired by your father.

It appears that the wife is avoiding to appear in court to give evidence.
This primarily occurs when the complainant files a false case.
Nothing to worry as even if she is brought in court to give testimony it will go in your favour and all the accused persons are likely to be acquitted.
