Loan document date can be earlier then disbursement date ??

Once loan is sanctioned, document will be executed i.e. loan documentation date and then disbursement. My query is that whether documentation date(of course on or after sanction date) can be earlier then disbursement date or essentially same as disbursement date. Please quote the source while replying
