Lawyers in purview of Right to Information Act, 2005

Can practicing lawyers be brought under the purview of Right to Information Act, although a lawyer is termed as Officer of the Court who helps the Court in assisting to ascertain the truth of the case.

Re: Lawyers in purview of Right to Information Act, 2005

There is an exception in the clauses of RTI Act vide which information which affects personal life and sanctity of any individual cannot be provided. So far as terming an Advocate as an officer of the court is concerned, it has nothing to do with RTI Act. If just denotes the function of the Advocate means he asists the courts and courts should regar them as an officer. In view of this logic, at present  Advocates are our of purview of RTI Act.

Dear Mr. Raj, Thanks for your view, but it is not becoming clear although you are right to mean that in view of logic that as Advocates assists the Courts..... Thank You, R.M.Bhaduri Advocate
